Harris Burdick Writing

In class we did a little project based off of Harris Burdick's pictures. I chose two pictures to write a story, and here it is.

The boy that could change the world. The one human being upon this planet that has the potential to fix our terrible world. Upon this world, two children were assigned a plan to find him. If that could happen, the world would once again live in peace.

The two children, whose names were Mari and Jodiefus, were from a different dimension than the humans. Since the humans were their only hope at saving the whole universe, they had to figure out which boy was the one.

Mari met up with Jodiefus in Avalon, their planet’s capital and the final resting place of King Arthur. Luckily, that resting place was located in their very own dimension. Arthur was the only human to set foot in their dimension, but it was said that he wasn’t just an ordinary man. After all, he did teleport himself to another dimension.

In Avalon they met the planet’s ruler, Chief Ojahcardius. Together he gave them the power to teleport to the dimension of humans. They were placed on a small piece of transportation with a sail, and they couldn’t pick which way to go because it was on a railroad track. Mari and Jodiefus hopped onto the machine along with Chief Ojahcardius and his wife. In Jodiefus’s mind, he thought about where he and the others were headed to. The dimension of humans. Who was the boy that could save the universes from war? Who was the boy that would bring back peace? If there was an answer, he’d find it there.

Once they arrived in the dimension of humans, Chief Ojahcardius and his wife had to leave them because they stood out from everyone else. Mari and Jodiefus were no fools, so they had successfully found the home of the boy within two days. Mari and Jodiefus glared around the room. A weird, wooden bat stood near the window. Some kind of boat was on a shelve. And something with a shade was built into the wall, which would give off light if turned on.

A tiny voice asked, “Is he the one?”

Knowing Mari had just spoken, Jodiefus answered “Yes. Finally, our side of the war will begin.”
